Title: Faith, Hope, and Ivy June

Author: Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

Length: 288 pages

Blurb:  Ivy June Mosley and Catherine Combs, two girls from different parts of Kentucky, are participating in the first student exchange program between their schools. They girls will stay at each other's home, attend school together, and journal about their experience. Catherine and her family have a beautiful home with lots of space. Since Ivy June's home is crowded, she lives with her grandparents. As they get closer, they realize they are more alike than different.

First things first, doesn't this blurb sound fun???

This book hit close to home in 2 ways. They both live in Kentucky, which is super close to Virginia. The coal mining was another hit. Now, for the two main characters.

Ivy June Mosley: Ivy June is a girl who lives with her grandparents because her own home is too crowded. By the way. Ivy June lives in the mountains. The Mosley's wear hand-me-downs, drive rickety cars, and use outhouses.

Catherine Combs: Catherine lives with her family in a big, beautiful house. She resides in the city, and is driven to school everyday in a nice car.

THEY'RE POLAR OPPOSITES!!!!!!!!!!

This book was great because both of the character's perspectives changed. Even their family's perspective changed. Ivy June's family thought mixing and talking with the upper class was bad. Catherine's family just wasn't used to living in the mountains, not having luxuries, and being without a uniform.

But, both of these girl were REALLY, REALLY bratty in my opinion. Sometimes, i just wanted to slap some sense into them. OK, I understand something happened, but I felt like they should suck it up, and move on.

The Verdict?

All Fall Down by Ally Carter

Title: All Fall Down

Author: Ally Carter

Length: 320 pages

Blurb: Grace can best be described as a daredevil, an Army brat, and a rebel. She is also the only granddaughter of perhaps the most powerful ambassador in the world, and Grace has spent every summer of her childhood running across the roofs of Embassy Row. Now, at age sixteen, she's come back to stay -- in order to solve the mystery of her mother's death. In the process, she uncovers an international conspiracy of unsettling proportions. and must choose her friends and watch her foes carefully if she and the world are to be saved.

I'm going to cut right to the chase.

I loved this book!

I've read many of Ally Carter's books. In fact, a series near and dear to my heart is her Gallagher Girl's series. So, when her new book All Fall Down came out, I had to read it.

The main character, Grace, is 16 years old, and for the past 3 years she has been tormented by the memory of her mother's death. I really sympathized her situation at many moments throughout the book. Oh, and, she goes to Adria to live in the U.S. Embassy, with her grandfather. In Embassy Row, anything can happen. As I was saying, I really sympathized her at moments. May people think she's crazy when she says that she saw her mother being murdered.

Her friends: Noah, Alexi, Rosie, and Megan are like the ULTIMATE friends. Noah is Grace's best friend. Thank you Ally Carter for no romance between them!! Alexi is Grace's older brother's best friend. Some moments were awkward with him, because of him being from Russia. Rosie is a 12 year old girl, who is from the German embassy. Megan is a fellow U.S. resident. Megan actually knew Grace when she was 4, and she played with her when Grace would visit Adria with her mom. One more thing. Noah, Grace, and Megan are the same age. Rosie is younger, and Alexi is older.

Grace is also an army brat. Her dad is in the army, and her brother is at West Point.

The ending was a total surprise. DID ANYONE SEE THAT COMING????

Overall, I really loved this book, but some parts had me confused. So, it's a 4.5 star review. And, I can't wait for the next book!

Peeled by Joan Bauer

Title: Peeled

Author: Joan Bauer

Length: 256 pages

Blurb: Hildy Biddle wants something monumental to happen so she can finally prove herself to be more than a high school journalist. The problem? her town's biggest story stars a ghost, which is not an easy interview. But while the local paper is playing up people's fears with shocking headlines of creepy happenings, Hildy is determined to figure out what's really going on. Unfortunately, her desire to uncover the truth is starting to cause a stir. With rumors swirling and tensions high, can Hildy push past all the hype and find out the real truth?

I got this book because I've read MANY of Joan Bauer's books (as ya know), and have enjoyed them thoroughly them all.

She didn't disappoint me :)

I think this gif represents the whole book!

There are so many little details that really made the come together.  Their town, the ghost, and, of course, the spirit of friendship. I especially loved that the main character, Hildy, was a writer. Major points in my book! (Pun intended!) So was her cousin!

Ahh... and Hildy's love story. Both of her former boyfriends had cheated on her. But, the worst part for Hildy is that one of them was on the school newspaper with her. I definitely sympathized her situation.

Apparently, Hildy is exactly like her father, reporting wise. He seemed like a wonderful man, so I was sad that we didn't get to meet him.

Now, the story of the ghost is some-what scrambled. From what I can recollect, there is a haunted house where some died, a local girl get visions (I think) , and a terrible accident happens. The neighbors of that house are being threatened (as far as I could make out), and they were being told to leave.

The Verdict?

5 hearts!

Did any of you guys read this book? if so, what did you think?
