Blonde Ops by Charlotte Bennardo & Natalie Zaman

As you probably know by now, this is one of those fashion mysteries you've probably seen. And, right now, you must be thinking, "Seriously? This is so cliche Trisha." (This actually happened.) Please, don't run away. Instead, pretend you're on a bright yellow Vespa, holding on very tight to your handle bars because you're in for a wild ride.

You're still here, right? Good, because next to you is a girl with bright pink and blonde hair, impeccable fashion sense, and tons of knowledge about technology. This is 16 year old Rebecca (Bec) Jackson. She was shipped to Rome as punishment  (I don't think it's even CONSIDERED punishment), to work at an intern for one of her mom's friends' magazine. Now, Bec can get herself into so much trouble. And, she caught between 2 guys. I mean, I get you kissing one, but the you go and kiss the other?! MAKE UP YOUR MIND SISTER!! So, not even 20 chapters into the book, and her mom's friend has a TERRIBLE accident. Not kidding. So someone else comes in. I'm not going to anything about this person because, well, it's gonna ruin the story somewhat.

Okay, so there's a scooter behind you. On it is a girl and a boy. The girl's name is Sophie, and the boy's name is Kevin. Sophie is Bec's best friend here in Rome. Kevin is, well, let's just say he come's around in the end. Ok, back to Bec. See the guy she's holding on to?That's Dante. He is ONE of the guys Bec likes. Let's just say that he's the one I prefer over Taj (the other boy, who is very tech-savvy, like Bec. Coincidence much?)

Now, imagine getting a text that the first lady went missing during a photoshoot. Well, this wasn't exact;y how they found out, but, just imagine. So, know you have to race against the clock, travel in sewers, and hack cars (don't ask). While trying to figure out what happened to your mom's friends.

I do want to say that Bec did come off whiny at times, and some of her reasons to people were very shallow, and didn't make sense.

Overall, this book was much more that I expected, but left out some key details. It was enjoyable, but lacked a special touch.

The Liebster Award!!

I've seen this on many blogs, and I've always wanted to do an award post, but have never gotten nominated. So, when the amazing Emily from For The Bookish nominated me, I was super happy. So, go check out her blog cause she truly is AMAZING, and is probably one of my favorite bloggers ever. And, thank you Emily!!

First things first, the rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, and link back to their blog. Check!
2. Answer the 11 questions from the blog who nominated you.
3. Nominate 11 bloggers to receive this award.
4. Come up with 11 questions for your nominees!

Now, onto Emily's questions!!!

1) When did you start your blog?
Well, if I remember correctly, I started my blog on November 12th, 2014. Meaning, I am a blog baby, and I am currently learning tons of things about blogging :) However, this isn't my first blog. the other one was one I co-blogged with a friend, which is weird cause usually you would co-blog after you've blogged solo.

2) Do you have a favorite quote?
Well, I'm very into quotes, just ask anyone!! However, I don't think I have a favorite. My top ones are "If you can dream it, you can do it" by Walt Disney, because it's one that is very inspirational quote. Another one is "There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind" by C.S. Lewis. I like this one because, to me, it represents wanderlust, which is something I've always had.

3) Think fast: your house is burning down and you can only save one from your shelf. Which one?
Oh...... this is hard question. And, I'm going to be honest. I don't own some of my favorite series, which is weird, but, that just makes it easy. I'd probably take All Fall Down by Ally Carter, just because it was a good book that I really, REALLY enjoyed, and because it's by one of my favorite authors.

4) Chocolate or sweet/fruity candy?
Chocolate all the way. I'm am a chocolate eating maniac, but the chocolate has to be pure. No almonds, fruits, or anything like that.

5) Do you have any pets, or want any? (Pictures, please!)
Sadly, I don't have any pets, but I know exactly what type of pet I would want. My dream pets would be a Yorkshire Terrier and West Highland White Terrier. It seems I have a thing for terriers. They look like this:

6) What does your handwriting look like? (Pictures, please!)
The picture above is part of my WIP, which is called Detective Chic.

7) What do you like do to do in your free time, aside from reading and blogging?
Hmm..... well, you'd probably find me singing, eating or dancing. I love doing all of these things. Other things include gymnastics. I also love watching Boy Meets World, Monk, The Parent Trap, and Harry Potter with my brother cause we just LOVE all of those things.

8) Do you tell people in real life about your blog? Their reactions?
I've only told a small amount of my friends, and when I do, they usually ask me how I find time for blogging. I have a super duper busy schedule, which is why I always forget about posting, and then rush last minute to post. Anyway, i digress. They are usually shocked, and ask tons of questions about my blog.

9) What is your main source for books? (Library, bookstore, or Kindle?)
Well, I either get my books from my library, or on overdrive from my kindle, which is my library, just in ebooks. So, my library. Going to the bookstore is kind of a novelty, which is why I don't have such a big book collection.

10) Guesstimate- how many books do you own? (Unless answering this question would take hours!)
Well.... going with the question before, I have about 16 books, which is not that big of a collection, sadly.

11) Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Probably fresh out of college, looking for a job, and working on my WIPs in between shifts at wherever I'm working. And, of course, still writing posts on my blog.

Thank you Emily, for the great questions!! Now, on to mine :)

1. Do you have a good beach memory?
2. If you could meet any character from a book, who would it be and why?
3. Name one quote you live by? Why do you live by it?
4. Have you ever traveled out of the country you live?
5. Think fast: One of your favorite books is completely soaked. How would you dry it?
6. On a weekend, do you workout or not?
7. Pick one: Lavender or Vanilla?
8. If you could travel anywhere, where would it be and why?
9. Can we get a shelfie of your bookshelf? (Pictures!)
10. Your favorite holiday? (Pictures!)
11. What is your favorite book series?

Now the victims nominees:

I hope they enjoy!!

Eight Keys by Suzanne LaFleur

Image result for eight keysTitle: Eight Key

Author: Suzanne LaFleur

Length: 224 pages

Blurb: Elise and Franklin have always been best friends. Elise has always lived in the big house with her loving Aunt and Uncle, because Elise's parents died when she was too young to remember them. There's a;always been a barn behind the house with eight locked doors on the second floor.  When Elise and Franklin start middle school, things feel all wrong. bullying. Not fitting in. Franklin suddenly seems babyish. Then, soon after her 12th birthday, Elise receives a mysterious key left for her by her father. A key that unlocks one of the eight doors upstairs in the bar........

Ok, I'm going to be a mess by the time this review is over. I think I need some tissues right now.

Image result for hermione crying gif

Cue in main character, Elise. Her mom died during pregnancy, and her dad died of cancer when she was little. She lives with her Uncle Hugh, and her Aunt Bessie. Her little cousin and her other aunt move in with them for a while. I connected this book to other books that have really touched my heart. Before her father died, he wrote letters to Elise to open on her birthdays, to ensure that he was still with her. OS,ll on her 12th birthday she opens one of the letters. The LAST letter, ever. In the letter, there are small messages that Elise doesn't notice. However, a key does appear in her barn, and it opens the doors to 1 of the 8 rooms upstairs. Now, I can't tell you what is in the rooms, but I sure can say that these rooms have messages we should always keep close to our heart, and these rooms just really make you WONDER.

Her best friend, Franklin is a nerd (in the good way). Like, Stuart Minkus from Boy Meets World

Her new friend Caroline is super nice. But there's a problem. Franklin doesn't like Elise hanging out with Caroline for reasons that will be told later. I mean, she's not bad, WOMEN UP!!

Image result for woman up gogo gif

                                           Yeah, what she said.

This book also showed the struggles of middle school. Her locker partner, Amanda, has bullied Elise all year. And, so, well, Caroline was one of Amanda's closest friend, until she realized Amanda has changed.

Overall, this book was a beautifully worded novel that has many realistic points.

Amazing!!
